About Us

Nadia Mares Braun, M.S.
LEP# 3439/ABSNP/BCBA
Nadia is the founder of AcademiCognitive Connections and a bilingual Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), fluent in Spanish, with over 20 years of experience supporting students with disabilities across home and school environments. Her professional journey spans early intervention through young adulthood, having worked with individuals from birth to 22 years old across a wide range of disabilities.

She began her career providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children on the autism spectrum through a private agency. Driven by a passion for understanding and supporting diverse learning needs, Nadia went on to earn her Master’s degree in School Psychology and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). During this time, she worked with multiple ABA agencies and the San Diego County Office of Education, offering early intervention services to infants with autism.

In 2006, Nadia transitioned into the public school system as a School Psychologist, where she has served students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Her dedication to evidence-based practice and neurodevelopmental assessment led her to earn board certification from the American Board of School Neuropsychology in 2014.

Today, Nadia works independently as a Licensed Educational Psychologist and BCBA, combining her expertise in psychology, behavior analysis, and neuropsychology to provide comprehensive and compassionate evaluations and support to students and families.
Based in San Diego, she enjoys life with her husband and children. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends, especially enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and fishing.
